Delta Rhine Corridor H2 Germany North

The Delta Rhine Corridor H2 Germany North project establishes a cross-border connection between Germany’s hydrogen core network and the planned hydrogen grid in the Netherlands. This connection will enable hydrogen imports from the Rotterdam area to major industrial centers in Germany, such as those in the Rhineland.

On the German side the project consists of the pipeline sections Elten–St. Hubert, St. Hubert–Glehn, and the northern part of the Delta Rhine Corridor (DRC), which run from the Interconnection Point Elten at the German-Dutch border to the Cologne area. The sections of the NETG natural gas pipeline between Elten and St. Hubert and between St. Hubert and Glehn (in total approximately 98 km), which are to be converted for hydrogen transport, form the core of the connection and are scheduled to go into operation by the end of 2030. The operators are OGE and Thyssengas H2. The subsequent new Delta-Rhine-Corridor (DRC) section, approximately 50 km long, is planned to complete the approximately 148 km total route by the end of 2032.
