Trainee programme
Where your ideas are needed.
So you’ve got your master’s degree already and want to get started in your career, but you don’t want to commit to a specialist area yet? Then join OGE as a trainee! Get to know our company from different perspectives and gain a comprehensive overview from day one on how the various departments interact and help shape the climate transition.
Here you can learn all about our trainee programme: from the duration and structure to your possible placements and extra perks. And at the end you’ll find a mini review to help you decide whether our programme is the right fit for you.
What makes our trainee programme unique:
You! You are front and centre of our trainee programme and choose your placements flexibly and individually according to your own interests. Your trainee programme starts at your home base. This is the area in which you will take up your permanent position at the end of the programme — because even as a trainee, you get a permanent contract right from the start.
It is important to us that you can shape your path according to your individual interests, and we’re happy to advise you on that. In addition to your supervisors in your home base and a former trainee as a personal buddy, you will also have a supervisor in the HR department to support you at all times.

What else you need to know:
Our trainee programme lasts 24 months. During this time, we will prepare you for your future tasks within our company. You’ll complete three to four different placements, which will give you a very good impression of the way our business operates as well as the basic knowledge you need for your career in the energy world.
Once you’ve completed the 24-month trainee programme, you’ll take up your position in your home base.
How you’re likely to get started with us:
To prepare you for your future position, you will be involved in day-to-day business from the outset and take responsibility for small sub-projects. You’ll get to know the individual departments and the relevant interfaces and will be able to network within the company from the start. As you do so, you’ll get to know lots of different departments, making it easier for you to choose your next placement.
How you’ll be supported and encouraged:
Alongside your on-the-job training, we offer you opportunities for specialist and personal growth as well as company-specific presentations to help you gain further qualifications. In regular feedback meetings with the HR department, we work with you to reflect on your personal development and set the course for your future at OGE. Former trainees are by your side as buddies right from the start and support you as you find your feet in the company. In addition, you’ll be supported by a mentor. You can choose your own mentor in your first or second placement and they, as a member of the management, will then meet with you regularly to discuss your development and prospects in the company.
